About

“As long as I see anything to be done for God, life is worth having: but oh, how vain and unworthy it is to live for any lower end!” David Brainerd

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s. (1 Corinthians 6:20)

My life is but a vapour (“For what is your life? It is even a vapour, that appeareth for a little time, and then vanisheth away.” Jas 4:14) and I live, not for this earth but for eternity. One day my eternal soul will stand before God and give account of how I have lived on this earth and what is my hope for eternity (“So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God.” Rom 14:12). In God’s great mercy He began a good work in my heart when I was a young child and it is my hope that what He began, and has continued to do, He will complete. (“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” Php 1:6) When I was blind and dead in my trespasses against God (Eph 2:1, And you hath he quickened, who were dead in trespasses and sins.) having no works of righteousness to cling to (Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23), totally worthy of being punished by the wrath of God for my sins, the Lord began a work of faith in my child-heart in Jesus Christ as my only hope of salvation from the just wrath of God for my sins (Rom 4:,5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.) And praise God I believe that at that moment, in obscure circumstances, in a way that leaves no room for the flesh to boast, but in a way that was miraculous and full of the mercies of the Lord, my soul that was dead in trespasses was born again (John 3:3, Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.) I became a new creature in Christ Jesus (2 Corinthians 5:17) and my heart was filled with joy at what God had done, and it continues to be filled with joy at the works of the Lord in my small life.

From that moment on my life has shown forth evidence that Jesus Christ is working in it (Eph 2:10, For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.) God has given me a fervent desire for reading the Bible, praying, being edified by faithful preaching of the Scriptures and the fellowship of God’s saints, and to share the Gospel of Christ with those around me. These desires have intensified over the last 17 years as has my growth in the knowledge of Jesus Christ, and the conviction of sin AND freedom from sin. God has taken a servant of sin and made me a servant of righteousness (Rom 6:18, Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.)

Now it is my daily desire to please and glorify Jesus Christ, my King and God, in the reality of today in the light of eternity. And my friend, I ask you, what are you living for? What account of yourself will you give to God on the day you die? Seek the Lord while He may be found!

“The discovery of God lies in the daily and the ordinary, not in the spectacular and the heroic. If we cannot find God in the routines of home and shop, then we will not find Him at all.”- RICHARD J. FOSTER

“There must be a great end in so great a plan, carried out at so great an expense, guaranteed with such great promises, and intended to bring such great glory to God.
The plan of salvation has in it all the wisdom of God: the purchase of salvation has in it the fulness of the grace of God: the application of salvation is an exhibition of the
exceeding greatness of the power of God; and all these three attributes in their greatness could not have conspired together for any but a great and marvelous
purpose.” Charles Spurgeon

“Now, what is salvation? Some people think that it means being saved from going down to hell. That is the result of salvation; but salvation means being saved from the power of sin, and being saved from the tendency to sin, as well as being saved from the punishment of sin.” Charles Spurgeon

“Do everything in earnest–if it is worth doing, then do it with all your might. Above all, keep much in the presence of God. Never see the face of man till you have seen his face who is our Life, our All.”
“Take heed to thyself. Your own soul is your first and greatest care.”
“I feel there are two things it is impossible to desire with sufficient ardour–personal holiness, and the honour of Christ in the salvation of souls.”
“Live near to God, and so all things will appear to you little in comparison with eternal realities.” Robert M’Cheyne

Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. (Gal 1:3-5)

For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ; Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works. (Tit 2:11-14)

But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost; Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour; That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life. (Tit 3:4-7)
